The AACLD is the only state or national organization
that focuses on the education of African American children with learning
disabilities. It is
continuously called upon to assist in bringing minority issues in special
education to public attention and has become a respected and
important contributor to initiatives that support appropriate and fair
educational placement and services for minority students who are disproportionately represented.
The innovative nature of the AACLD
cannot be minimized as a partner in the country’s rush to improve student
achievement. Your financial support will help us through training and increased access to information to help parents and other caregivers across this country become empowered with the tools they need to improve educational outcomes for children who are struggling in school.
